Am i safe to say that this is the only Mego like Gene Autry custom ever attempted? It’s the first I’ve ever seen and in a world of countless Wolverines and Batmen, this singing cowboy is a welcome oasis.

Repainted Funko Reaction Mummy
The so called “Reaction Retro” thing has been sort of a mixed bag for me but I did think the Universal Monsters were nice. Museum member enyawd72 has shown us that under those figures are some excellent sculpts as his talent with a brush shows above.
He added a special charm to all the figures, you can see them at the Mego Museum Forums.
Distinctive Dummies Invaders from Mars
A fairly recent creation from Distinctive Dummies, this figure is 100% awesome in it’s cheap-0 50s sci fi glory. Still available at their website.
Custom: Cybermen
I’ll round out the evening with two figures I’m working on right now.
The Troughton era Cyber Controller was a fluke, I was gifted the head by it’s creator at a Mego Meet and it hung around in my luggage for over a year. Then one lazy sSunday, I painted it and put him in an Action Jackson rescue squad uniform. I need to finish some little details (and eventually make a 2nd Doctor).
The Cyberman is the laziest custom I’ve made since I put robin shorts on my spock and called him “Submareener” (i still call Namor that). I spray painted a Bif Bang Pow Cyberleader silver. I covered the face with a dab of putty, it works, go do it.
Happy Birthday Doctor Who!
Custom: The Brigadier
This fabulous custom of Lethbridge Stewart was cooked up by my pal Steve, want the recipe on how make one yourself? Click this link to get your own UNIT commander.
Custom: Scaroth in Warrior Garb
Here’s a mego scaled Who custom that I’ve never seen before, Scaroth from the City of death in his alien warrior garb. Sure BifBangPow did Scaroth but he was in his liesure suit, I especially dig the card on this.
This piece was done by a fellow who goes by “Markneto”, see more of his work at his website.
Custom: Denys Fisher Style Master
I made this guy back in the 90s, it’s a Dr Zarkov modified to be a Delgado Master for the 10″ Doctor Who line. I had plans to do PertWee, McCoy and others but the majority of them are headless 10″ figures with awesome costumes in a box somewhere, I should revisit it but that scale is hard to work in and my apathy is strong sometimes……
Please forgive the “awesome” background, i was in my twenties and so green to photoshop then.
Video: Custom Doctor Who figures
This fellow is a talent and has great freaking taste. I especially love the 3rd Doctor, Robot man and Ed Straker customs.
Customs: Riddler Mania
This was posted to the Mego Museum Message boards by the ever talented Austin. It’s no riddle that these are awesome.
Distinctive Dummies gives us Maniac Cop
You have the right to remain silent….forever.
DD has done it again, with a megostyle figure based on the titular character from this cult grindhouse movie. Limited to 50, this figure will do what every DD release does, disappear. Check it out here.
Mego Custom Spotlight: Black Spider-Man
This week the spotlight falls on Killer Iguana’s version of black Spider-Man. Sometimes the simplest customs are the hardest to pull-off, and black Spidey falls in that category. KI’s version is very believable as an 80s Mego offering.

Ebay: Custom Batman Adam West Box
Figures Toy Company is doing some solid work with the Batman 1966 line but this box proves that everything can be made better. This custom box features a striking image of Adam West as Batman and would truly compliment the figure. Be sure to check out the other creative goodies this seller has to offer.
