Mego Lex Luthor in wave 19 Worlds Greatest Superheroes
Although he has no superpowers to speak of, Luthor has come closer to defeating Superman more times than any of his other adversaries. With his brilliant mind, Luthor’s schemes nearly always come close, until his massive ego gets in his way. No matter the situation, it’s Luthor’s hubris that’s always his downfall.Lex Luthor is the greatest criminal mind of our time. The primary arch-enemy of Superman, Lex uses his intelligence to create machines to destroy the Man of Steel. Mego Corp. adds the Lex Luthor to our 50th Anniversary World’s Greatest Superfoes line with a great new sculpt by Andrew Covalt and with costuming by Dave McCormick.

Vintage Mego this week talks about Bruce, Peter, Clark and Dick. The Mego Secret Identity outfits are one of the hardest if not the most challenging sets to collect in the world’s greatest superheroes pantheon. Why is that and what is the history? we touch on that and talk about myths and reproductions.

MegoMuseum talks about one of Mego’s most successful if not, the most successful playset ever produced the Mego Star Trek USS Enterprise Action Playset.
This wonderful cardboard and vinyl set is probably also one of Mego’s most famous creations and sold almost half a million units.

intage Mego this week looks at the Hall of Justice Playset for the Mego World’s Greatest Superheroes Toy Line. This deluxe Mego playset came out in 1976 when the Superheroes were the hottest action figure lines going.
The Hall of Justice was not in the comics at the time, just the Super Friends animated show. We look at the Legion of Superheroes prototype, the Green Lantern appearance, discuss its translocator feature, and talk about that other Hall of Justice Playset Mego made that year.

Introduced in 1975 by Mego as an attempt to get that “Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots” money, the Fist Fighting Superheroes by Mego were a worldwide phenomenon that created many variations in the United Kingdom and in Mexico.
This episode of Vintage Mego talks about the US versions of the Fist Fighters but also takes a look at the efforts of Toltoys, Palitoy Bradgate and Lili ledy.
Special thanks to Eddie Berst, Jesus Magana and the Toltoys kid for their awesome generosity and kindness in creating this episode.
This week’s Vintage Mego puts together the giant Mego Planet of the Apes Fortress Playset from 1975 and lets you get a good look at what’s inside.
We also talk about the sales numbers for the Mego Planet of the Apes range and discover that Apes were very popular even after the TV had come and gone.

This week I share possibly my favourite knock-off find of the last few years, meet the Krazy Kreeps, two eight Mego-esque monster figures that look so familiar. I’ll explain where we’ve seen them before, lots of fun surprises and mysteries.
This week we talk about the strange oddities like red-carded heroes, Franken Aquaman and these newly discovered World’s Greatest Superheroes in baggies, trust me, it’s a fun mystery!
