Toy-Ventures Magazine Issue 10 is here!
Do you miss print toy magazines? I sure did; that’s why I created Toy Ventures. A full-colour print magazine that celebrates toys from the 1960s to the 1980s. It features collector guides, interviews and even some satire. We’re on issue 10 now but still have a limited supply of our back issues; please visit our Shop for more information.
We co-produced this amazing action figure with White Elephant Toyz; it’s an 8″ Mego Style Officially Licensed Tura Satana figure with a beautiful box by Joeseph Linsner! Get yours while supplies last.
A new order form has surfaced, and while these things are always subject to change (and have changed), this is a pretty interesting look at where Mego intends to go.
The World’s Greatest Superheroes lead the charge with a wave that doesn’t include a single original mego WGSH reproduction. It’s somebody’s wishlist of DC characters we never got.
In the Entertainment side, we have some returning licenses like Willy Wonka (yay!), classic Star Trek and Creepshow with the previously announced Creep figure. Many surprises with the new licenses, including House of Dragons, Ted Lasso, Krampus and National Lampoon’s Vacation.

Toy-Ventures Collectible Pins including the Lincoln Monsters
Do you miss toy collector magazines?
That’s why we created Toy-Ventures magazine, an old-school print publication dedicated to vintage toys from the 1960s to the 1990s. Each issue is packed with never before seen images and information written by some of the top collectors. We’ve got nine issues and climbing; please check our page here or visit our store.
Pod Stallions is based on our podcast and is one of the most fun groups on Facebook. Toys, Comics, Movies, TV, it’s all up for grabs, and remember, folks, you keep the glass! If you like our show, then you have found your tribe.
Mego Knock Off Headquarters– The leading group discussing 70s Dime store knock-offs and bootleg action figures, we talk vintage toys and not others. We know the difference between Astro Apes and Action Apeman. It’s a fun group where we talk about Lincoln Monsters, AHI, Mighty Gary, Tomland, Bogi, Demo Man, Mortoys, and other generic greats.
Mego Star Trek
Vintage Mego returns with a look at the Mego 1978 catalogue filled with Micronauts, KISS, World’s Greatest Superheroes, 2-xl, Magna doodle, CHiPs, Laverne and Shirley, Playboy Playmates and Puppet Love? It’s an episode jam-packed with Mego goodness.

Hey, it’s Christmas Eve, so let’s open a mystery box of Knock-Offs brought to me by Santa (at least I think that was the DHL guy’s name), and I can show you the most extraordinary KO figure that I have ever purchased.
Meet Frank, Dolly girl and The Terror from Beyond Space!
Toy-Ventures Magazine is our newest creation, an old-school print magazine about vintage toys! Professionally laid out and written, each issue is brimming with obscure and rare toys from companies such as Mego, Kenner, Remco, AHI, and much more. Monsters, Superheroes, Adventurers, Knock Offs, Apes, and so much more, it’s in Toy-Ventures.
Mego Knock Off Headquarters– The leading group discussing 70s Dime store knock-offs of Mego action figures, we talk vintage toys and not others. We know the difference between Astro Apes and Action Apeman! It’s a really fun group where we talk about Lincoln International, AHI, Tomland, Bogi, Demo Man, Kojak Toys and other generic greats.
Mr. Spock is the first of three 14″ Star Trek figures from Mego corp. This figure was announced in 2019 but was unfortunately canceled due to factory closure. The original prototype shown at Toyfair used the heads from the classic Mego Star Trek the Motion picture 12″ Spock but Mego has decided to blow up the classic 8″ Spock head for this line. Hey, why fix what isn’t broken?
Sculptor: Box says Sean Sansom but that head sculpt is Gene Salmacha Outfit: Rachel Baker Series: Star Trek Wave: 13 Available: July 2021 Accessories: Spare Hands, Belt, Phaser, Communicator
Toy-Ventures Issue 4 is shipping and it includes an exhaustive look at the Mego Mad Monsters with an interview with Marty Abrams. If you dig vintage toys, then Toy-Ventures Magazine is for you.
Mego Knock Off Headquarters– The leading group discussing 70s dimestore goodness like Lincoln International, AHI, Tomland, Durham, you get the picture. Whether you like Mr. Rock or are more of an Astro Apes person, this is the group you need to be in. Mego K.O. HQ is a lot of unlicensed fun, just straight up toy talk with nothing else.
Another Wave 8 review, this time it’s from Mego Star Trek the Next generation. Also, we’re giving a carded figure of your choice away, details in the video itself!

Vintage Mego takes a look at the classic Mego Star Trek playset “Mission to Gamma VI” an alien world environment loosely based on a classic epsiode of the television series.
We also talk about why the Mego Star Trek line abruptly ended in 1977 even though it was still quite popular.
This week Vintage Mego looks at the Star Trek: The Motion Picture Bridge Playset. Often maligned by collectors, sure it’s a little cheaply made but was it a fun toy? We offer our experiences with it.
This week we’re not going to talk about making a custom but rather look at some fond memories and celebrate some creators. Fans make the coolest stuff and let me introduce you to some of my favourites like the Supermobile, Jet Jaguar and Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, you’re gonna love it!

Time to open another box of knock-off figures and these dudes are my new favorites. This line hedges all bets by crossing Star Wars with the Black Hole and Star Trek into a delicious stew of unlicensed hilarity!
