Cyber Monday Deals at Entertainment Earth

BBP15100BBlg

The sales this season at EE have made me a little tired but that doesn’t change the fact that they’re giving some great deals on Bif Bang Pow figures from Twilight Zone, Dexter, Penny Dreadful and the Six Million Dollar man right now. A totally different assortment from the previous two sales.

Re-Mego Round up

50a7dccd-6209-446c-9161-8be1bde57523

It’s been a busy month for Mego heads, here is a run down of everything going on currently.

Figures Toy Company:

KISS:

1966 Batman:

New Teen Titans:

Bif Bang Pow!

Diamond Select Toys/EMCE

Bif Bang Pow! goes all 3 3/4″ on us

If the latest shots of Twilight Zone, Big Bang Theory and the announcement of Flash Gordon are any indication, I don’t expect much 8″ product from BBP! this year.

I’m ok with this really, for a number of reasons:

1) Mego made tons of 3 3/4″ figures and I still consider these in the retro 70s wheelhouse.

2) BBP is by and large, doing a nicer job than Funko on their properties (I don’t hate Funko Reaction but let’s face it, some are better than others)

3) BBP gave us A LOT of great 8″ product over the years.

I wish they made more Doctor Who but I suspect so do they.

The Kubby Awards are in

The 2014 Mego Museum Kubby Awards for excellence in ReMego are up for viewing right now.  It shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Figures Toy Co and NECA pretty much stole the show this year but I do think some nice stuff got ignored.

I guess when you have a property as beloved as 1966 Batman and then you actually do a nice job of the figures, you really have lightning in a bottle. Congrats to the winners!

Shows that should have Mego figures: Black Dynamite

This one makes no sense to me, it’s a beloved property set in the 70s (just like Anchorman) and it’s also a regular, popular show on cartoon network (not unlike Mike Tyson mysteries and Venture Brothers)

Yet there is nothing, not even those POP vinyl things that are absolutely everywhere and everything.  To me, this should be happening and far less risky that a lot of the properties currently out there, the world needs figures of Dynamite, Bull Horn, Cream Corn, fiendish Dr Wu and don’t get me started on Chocolate Giddy-Up.

I’m declaring war on anyone who doesn’t make Black Dynamite Mego dolls a thing and don’t bring me any “Marvel Legends” style figures either. This property is BATHED in 1974 and we all know who ruled the toy aisle then.

Breaking: Entertainment Earth is almost giving Lost figures away

BBP08101DDlg

Entertainment Earth is blowing the LOST Mego Style figures away for $7.60 a pair. That’s worth it just for the bodies.

While I’ve never been all that big on the show, I’ve bought a pile of these for customs over the years, (Sayeed makes a terrific Zandor Vorkov BTW) and at this price, they’re a wonderful source for clothes and shoes.

Here’s a link to the sale, don’t miss out.
